Conference Description
From November 8th through November 10th, the Collaborative Environmental Planning Initiative (CEPI) will host its first conference with a purpose of defining the sustainability practices for Bras d’Or Lakes. As a response to the successful workshop of the Cape Breton First Nations Chiefs in 2003, “The People of the Lakes Speak: 2016 CEPI Building Sustainable Practices Conference” will hold discussions that focus on defining the communities, user groups and stakeholders’ priorities for sustainable practices in the Bras d’Or Lakes watershed area.
Filled with discussions and presentations, inspired by the movement towards the best sustainable practices across the sectors of forestry, mining, energy, aquaculture, agriculture and tourism for communities the three-day event will benchmark how best practices in sustainability will be key drivers in economic development for the region so that these practices can be used to build a climate that will encourage youth to remain or return to Cape Breton to build a prosperous life.
Join us as we discuss the sustainable practices for Bras d’Or Lakes from November 8th - 10th at the Wagmatcook Conference Centre and the Inverary Resort. Your voice matters!
